Application Guidelines

Requirements for Application

Applicants must have completed 12 academic years in their (respective) country.


Applicants must have experience of having had studied the Japanese language for more than 6 months at a Japanese school licensed by the Association for the Promotion of Japanese Language Education with an attendance rate of higher than 90%.

Applicants must have a JLPT Certificate of level 2 or higher, or equivalent language ability.

The documents required for Application

① A certified original of secondary school diploma and transcript.
② A certified original of Japanese institution diploma, transcript and attendance rate or student registration certificate.
③ A copy of your passport (the page that shows the passport number, photo and visa)
④ A copy of your alien registration card (both sides).
⑤ A completed application form with your photograph (4cm x 3cm) attached to it
⑥ A guarantor form to YMCA ((If you do not have a guarantor, please contact the office)
⑦ A letter of payment of expenses (A substitute person can write this letter with the permission of the expenses payer)
⑧ A copy of the certificate of 1st or 2nd grade of JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) or a copy of the result of EJU (Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students)
⑨  Screening fee of ¥20,000[free of charge only this year]

Application method

Please submit all the documents listed above to the administration office (4th floor) in our school.
(It is advisable to submit all the documents to school in person, however, submitting those by post mail can be acceptable for those who live far)

Examination

Japanese and Interview (written Japanese Language Test and Interview)

Results Notification

Result will be sent to the applicant by post postal mail within 3 days after taking the examination.

Enrollment Procedures


After receiving the result notification form, please submit the payment of the enrollment fee and tuition fee by the due date.

Please submit the payment of the enrollment fee (¥100,000) within 2 weeks after receiving the result notification form.


Tuition fee payment method

payment in lump sum
Tuition fee (¥660,000 for 1st and 2nd terms) and Total Insurance for Student (¥7,000)must be paid by March 20th.

payment in installments
Tuition fee for 1st term (¥330,000) and Total Insurance for Student (¥7,000) must be paid within 2 weeks after the submitting the payment of enrollment fee. (The due date for the tuition fee for 2nd term is August 31st)


※Total Insurance for Students (School Insurance)
This is the financial support system for cases such as when a student was to be involved in an accident or was to get injured. This system also applies to cases such as the death of a person who pays the school and living expenses. Also the system covers reparation payments for student-caused accidents. The YMCA students are obliged to take out this insurance.


The due date for payment of the tuition fee for 2nd year will be made known after entrance to the school.


The enrollment and tuition fees once paid are not refundable.

Applicants who have part time jobs and want to continue their part time jobs after the enrollment, should apply for permission to engage in activities outside the scope of visa with extension of your visa.

Policy for scholarship students

Requirements for scholarship students
must have an educational experience of more than 6 months at a Japanese school licensed by the Association for the Promotion of Japanese Language Education
・must have a high attendance rate and good grades at a Japanese school
・must achieve a high score on the entrance examination of this course

※The exemption from tuition fees will be applied to those paying in bulk when they make their initial payment. For those who choose to pay in installments, the exemption will be applied upon the payment of the second installment of the tuition fee.
