The Japan Sumo Association (JSA) has decided to an emergency board meeting on Friday to decide on punishment for sumo stablemaster Tokitsukaze in connection with the death of 17-year-old wrestler Takashi Saito, it has been . Sources close to the association revealed Tuesday that officials were planning a meeting, where there is reportedly a strong chance that Tokitsukaze will be sacked over the death. However, some officials that forcing Tokitsukaze out of the JSA would prevent the association from carrying out its own investigation into the death, and they suggested that he should remain connected with the association in some form or other. Saito, who under the name Tokitaizan, died suddenly during a training session at the Tokitsukaze stable. When questioned over the death, Tokitsukaze reportedly admitted having the 17-year-old wrestler with a beer bottle. Sacking is the heaviest penalty issued by the board, and if Tokitsukaze were sacked, he would not be able to return to sumo.
