We Celebrate Our Differences

We, Osaka YMCA International High School, cherish these mottoes:

Our 6 school mottoes

We are small school with 30 students for each grade, but their national and cultural backgrounds are astonishingly diverse.
We also have many students with the experience of truancy. Our six school mottoes lighten every student in this diversity.

Believe in Yourself

Respect yourself and others

Celebrate our differences

Think before you act

Be proactive

Knowledge is cool

Growing students’ strengths in secure
and relaxed environment

Strong points of small group education

Strong points of small group education

We can provide personal care for students in this small group education system. Trustful relationship with teachers enables students to feel secure and relax in school, which is uncommon at Japanese high schools in general. When students have problems, they can come and talk freely to Japanese staffs or non-Japanese staffs. Also we look over them to be proactive for growing their strengths up.

Respect yourself and others

Respect yourself and others

Treat others as you wish to be treated”. We are a mission school based on Christianity. IHS resides in YMCA building, where children, students, old folks, oversea students, foreigners and people with disabilities gather to learn. We compare this YMCA building to a “small earth”. It is the first step for becoming a global citizen to love yourself, accept others, and care about people around you.

Never mind if you don’t have confidence to your English

Never mind if you don’t have confidence to your English

No problem, if you don’t have confidence to your English yet. What is important is your interest in the language and enthusiasm to learn it. Native English teachers will talk to you with great smiles, and all you have to do in the first place is try your best to reply with simple English words. It’s not a few to notice that you can tell your mind in English better than your own language. Our English language immersion environment makes that happen. Of course, there is adequate support from Japanese staffs here, too.

School infirmary and counseling room
