ここ大阪ＹＭＣＡインターナショナルハイスクールでは、毎年新入生が入ってくる4月に六甲山の山頂にある六甲ＹＭＣＡへ１泊２日で出かけるという行事があります。「六甲オーバーナイト」と呼ばれるこの行事を通して、まだ学校や友達に慣れていない１年生たちが仲良くなっていきます。
今年は4月24日と25日に行われました。引率をした教員のジュリアン・フルトン（Julian Fulton）の感想文をどうぞ。
This year saw another very enjoyable YMCA camp at Mount Rokko for the 2009 1st year students. Both teachers and students were very excited to be attending their first of many YMCA programs together.
On the first day of camp we were lucky to have the perfect spring day for our outdoor activities. The first activity was the ‘Trust Walk’ where students place their trust in each other as they guide each other blindfolded around the camp.
The next outdoor activity was the ‘Walk Rally’. The Walk Rally builds on team work and trust as groups of students navigate themselves around Mount Rokko. The blooming cherry blossoms, fresh mountain air and fun problem solving made this a great afternoon for all.
After such an active afternoon everybody had worked up great appetite for dinner. After dinner, the indoor activities were conducted with just as much energy as the outdoor activities. The evening began with an introduction and information session professionally hosted by 2nd and 3rd year students. A number of challenging and fun activities were then lead by the ‘Senpai’. In an evening of thrills and spills, the highlights and included the ‘Stunt Team’ and ‘Animal Connection’ activities.
We awoke to a wet Saturday morning but that didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of all the students. A hearty breakfast gave the students energy to jump a series of team building and communication activities lead by teachers.
At the end of the YMCA Camp at Mount Rokko, all the students left with a feeling of self confidence, new found friends and motivation to study hard to reach their goals for the 2009-2010 school year. We are now looking forward to Anan Camp In Tokushima!
大阪YMCAインターナショナルハイスクールには授業以外にたくさんの課外活動（プログラム）がありますが、新学期が始まり1番最初に実施されるのが、新入生対象のオーバーナイトキャンプ！場所は兵庫県の六甲山ＹＭＣＡでおこなわれます。
このプログラムの目的は、新入生同士そして先生たちとの親睦を深めることです。
1日目の24日は、気持ちの良い小春日和。外に出て“トラストウォーク”や“ウォークラリー”をしました。晩ご飯のあとには、ゲストスピーカーとして招かれた先輩たちから、IHSでの学校生活をいかに楽しく充実したものにするかのアドバイスを聞き、さらに先輩たちが企画してくれたゲームを楽しみました。
2日目はあいにくの雨でしたが、屋内で外国人の先生たちのリードでいろいろなゲームをしました。新しい学校生活が始まって数週間。このキャンプで友人や先生たちといろいろな話をして、お互いの関係がより深く、確かなものになる良い機会になったはず。
さぁ！次は来月の阿南海洋キャンプ！ みんな、楽しみにしているようです。
