On July 25, 2009, our Drama Arts class worked together with students of Kansai University of International Studies (KUIS) to present a series of one-act plays for a live audience at OZC School located in Umeda, one of Osaka City's most thriving communities.
７月２５日（土）、IHSの英語ドラマクラスの生徒たちは関西国際大学(KUIS) のドラマクラス生たちとのコラボで寸劇の発表会を持ちました。場所は、梅田の大変活気あふれたところにあるOZCスクール（大阪造形センター）のスタジオをお借りしました。
Leading up to the show, YMCA IHS students worked under the direction of IHS Drama Arts instructor Mario Perez, and KUIS students worked under the direction of associate professor Gerald Williams. On a number of occasions, IHS students also had the opportunity to work with said professor in order to sharpen their awareness of stage techniques.
この発表会にいたるまで、YMCA IHSの生徒たちは主にドラマクラス担当のMario Perez先生が指導してきましたが、KUISの指導をしてこられたGerald Williams助教授にも、ステージテクニックの向上のための指導を受ける機会を得ました。
At the show itself, YMCA IHS students performed two plays, "Intermission" and "Bread", while KUIS students performed "Downtown" and "Miss You". Throughout the evening, guests, including parents, teachers, and friends, also enjoyed food prepared by OZC owners and musical performances by a solo guitarist. The students seemed to enjoy themselves very much while learning valuable lessons in live-stage production, teamwork and interschool cooperation.
ショウそのものについては、YMCA IHSの生徒たちは"Intermission" と "Bread"の２本, KUISの皆さんは "Downtown" と "Miss You"の２本を演じました。生徒のご両親や先生、友人たちを含むゲストの皆さんは、観劇しながらギターソロの演奏を楽しんだり、OZCのご好意による食事を頂いたり楽しい夕べを過ごされました。生徒たちもとても楽しめた一方、ライブステージやティームワーク、国際協働の点で大変価値のあるレッスンとなりました。
All proceeds went to aiding the well-established charity Habitat for Humanity. Future productions hope to include performances where KUIS and IHS student work together in the same one-act plays.
