生徒の感想文と教員の一言コメントをどうぞ。
２年生 男子
Before going to the MUN, I was really worried about what I was supposed to do as a delegate representing Germany. Everyone at the MUN was wearing formal clothes and looked very professional while they looked like they could speak English fluently. I think I surprised myself because I could follow what was being discussed and I provided a speech that I believe people found interesting. I hope next year I can discuss the issues in more detail and then it would be even more fun.
モデル国連に参加するまでは、ドイツ代表として何をすればいいのか分からず本当に心配でした。参加者は皆きちんとスーツを着てとてもプロフェッショナルに 見え、英語も流暢に話せるようでした。でも、驚いたことに僕は何が話されているのか分かったし、皆が興味を持ってくれるようなスピーチをすることもできま した。来年は、問題の細部にわたって話をして、もっと楽しめればいいと思います。
2年生 女子
This years MUN topic was the effects of armed conflict on children. Before taking this class I had very little understanding on the issue and didn’t even know there were child soldiers fighting in many different countries around the world. I think this was because Japan is such a safe and peaceful country. The MUN experience gave me an opportunity to learn so much about other countries and I recommend students who want to learn English to learn about important issues from around the world.
今年のMUNのトピックは戦争が子どもたちに与える影響についてでした。クラスで勉強するまでは、この問題に関して私はほとんど知識がなく、世界のあちこ ちで子どもの兵士が戦争に参加していることすら知りませんでした。これは、日本がこんなにも安全で平和な国だからだと思います。私は、このMUNを経験し たお陰で、他国について大変多くのことを学ぶことができたので、英語を学び世界の重要な問題について学びたいと思っている生徒たちに、MUNに参加するこ とをお勧めします。

I would like to first of all say congratulations to all of the students who participated in MUN this year. All of the students provided intelligent informative speeches and interesting points of view during informal debate. The diverse perspectives the student’s thought about enabled them to negotiate proposals that different groups of people can agree upon. This experience will be useful in their personal and professional lives.
私からはまず、今年のMUN参加生徒におめでとうと言いたいです。informal debateの際には、全員が知性に溢れ役に立つスピーチができ、興味深い観点を提示することができました。生徒たちの多様な見方のお陰で、彼らは他の参 加グループが同意できる提案を交渉の末通すことができました。この経験は、彼らのこれからの人生や仕事にとって、とても役立つものだと思います。
