Hello, everyone. My topic is “my wonderful, beautiful and powerful New Zealand memories from last summer vacation”. My memories are as big as a whaler. My host mother was sort of scary. Whenever I took a shower, she would bang on the door and told me “Hurry up!” I had to go to bed at seven o’clock every night. I was very happy when I could stay with my friend and her host family. I stayed at Tomomi and Momoko’s host families’ homes for two nights.

Many things happened in NZ! I met my host mother’s grand daughter “Emma”! She was seven years old and very energetic. Emma and I were always together.

My YMCA group always did many activities and we went to many kinds of places in Rotorua. One day, when we visited farm, we met cows, sheeps, dogs, ducks, lambs and big pig. I was interested in the big pig. I touched it many times later the big pig said to me “Bu-----!!” The big pig looked angry. I think if I touched the big pig many times the big pig would run over me and I would die so I stopped touching the big pig. That was a good choice for me.

Next day we went to the lake. We ate lunch in the bus and outside. There were a lot of ducks outside. Shoji sensei ate sandwiches outside, suddenly he gave ducks the special sandwiches that Mr. Philip made. Momoko and I were eyewitnesses. Later that day we rode to the top of the mountain. One boy went with us. His name was Born. He was same age as us, 15 yeas old. When he shook hands with Momoko and me, our hearts started to beat faster. It burned and felt like fire!! Momoko and I always talked about Born everyday.

I didn’t want to come last day because I really enjoyed in NZ. I was sad to leave my NZ friends especially Emma! When we left the goodbye party, she said to me “You are my sister.” I was very happy and I told her “We are sisters. We will meet again in the future.” I think meeting people is good but leaving them is very sad. But these memories are a part of my experience!

If I can go to NZ again, I want to go with my 2005 NZ group! I will never forget about my wonderful beautiful and powerful memories!!

Thank you for listening.
